Week 25: Steam Train

My boys are going to love this one. This was the steam locomotive getting ready to take us back to the train station the other day. I had to clone out another photog and did a film-y black and white conversion on it. Boston tomorrow, so should have some fun shots from a new area!

Week 24: DAD

I know I'm late, but with good reason. This is the D-A-D picture we did for Dennis this year. I didn't want him to see it before Father's Day. Last year I did one for him as well when Owen was teeny tiny and had it framed for his desk at work.



Crazy how much they grow in a year! It's also crazy how hard it is to do this photograph with a toddler compared to a baby!

Week 23: Garden in Bloom

My garden is taking off with a vengeance now that we finally got some sunshine. I tried a little different post-processing on this one, but believe it or not the lovely blue color in the background is actually my car. If you look closely you can see the little Toyota symbol. I have a ton of flowers to share this week. What's your favorite?

Week 22: Cracking Up

Moody for me right? I belong to an online photo board and every week there's a photo challenge. This week the challenge was simple: spoon, phone, nail. You had to take a photo that had at least some of each of these items in it. Dennis and I were talking about it last night and he helped me come up with this concept after much brainstorming.
The timing was perfect because my friend John also dropped off some studio lighting for me to try out (!) so I could use some off-camera flash to help with the cool lighting.

Week 21: Sweet Sara

Do you remember this beauty? This is little Sara from weeks 1& 3. Hasn't she grown? She was wearing her party dress on Sunday to celebrate her Daddy graduating from pharmacy school. We were all enjoying some burgers and dogs while she seemed to enjoy her fingers.

Week 20: Buzzy Bee

It has been raining nonstop here this week. There was a little break this morning so Owen and I went outside for some play time. I took my camera out with the intention of shooting the cherry blossoms, but when I opened the garage to get Owen's bubbles I spotted this guy.
Now I don't think you guys realize how close I have to get to my subject with the extension tubes. It was scary. I had to quickly get the right settings, get close, hold Owen at bay, and get this focused manually. I got 2 shots and the bee flew away. Luckily I nailed one of them.
I know not everyone loves bugs...so here's some more flowers too from this week. Most were shot indoors because of the rain.

Week 19: Dandy-lion

Who knew a weed could be so pretty? I know everyone out there has an abundance of these taking over their lawns. Look close up and they don't seem so pesky.
